Merchandise you've got

Post by Darryl B. »

Just wondered what gaming stuff you have as it applies to...well, anything *other* than games.

Sure, I've got some old gaming mags and one of the "how to win at video games" books from the early 80s and some catalogs and all. Here's a couple of t-shirts as well:

Wakka wakka dudes (you've probably seen this popular shirt in stores)

Lines! All I see are lines!

Even if it's ages before I can ever start snagging a few coin-op games, I wouldn't mind having some manuals, at least. There's this annual gaming expo here in town where the last one I went to a guy who used to run a Tilt here was selling them for $15 a pop...not bad, considering they all looked to be in really good shape, were sealed and all (he and his setup can be seen here). That, and some old promo posters (like Qix, saying 'pronounced "kicks"' was good :) ).

Besides my games, look at the following. You think that's a lot? I haven't updated that list in 10 YEARS! :D

Unfortunately http://www.vectrex.nl/ is sold out of them. Actually mine was free since they wanted a review of Mine Storm, so I wrote one and snagged it that way ;) Hell, I wouldn't mind having their previous Berzerk t-shirt, even though I didn't like that port that much, I just liked the shirt!

Hopefully they'll come out with another one at some point, don't know what game it'll be though.

Gads, I can just imagine...

The Pac-Man hat, M. Command and S. Cobra pins sound cool. How'd you do on that video gaming show?

TV Pixx? I got the highest score of the week, but that was 29 years ago. :)

Heh, saw this on the couch in here, and thought 'heeeeey, that's a bit too big for the nephew, isn't it?' :D

Yep: when I asked mom about it, she was going to get it for him, but noooo, he wanted a Simpsons shirt. 'Well, I'll see if it fits Uncle Darryl then'. Yes, keep your damn Simpsons shirt then!

Hey, I've seen that shirt in Sears!

I remember Dom had an old Space Invaders shirt. It was like a screenshot of the game (it wasn't a screenshot per se, just a rendering) with score and everything. They kept asking him if that was his high score, which he said "no", of course.

Years later, I started using the shirt. And even I was asked that same question!

Too bad the shirt is gone...I remember it's blue greatness...

Forgot about my ol' Doom t-shirt! It's 'colored in' in this shot though...

You can't really see it, but I have on a Resident Evil 2 t-shirt in this 1998 pic.
