Re: Some ideas I had for some new sub-forums
More subforums would be nice. Maybe console specific thread pages for each generations forums. I like when a forum has a ton of different subforums, its like searching through a mansion with a ton of different rooms and your curious when the last time someone has came through there.

Re: Best books on Video Game History?
Alright, I got a copy of The Ultimate History of Video games. About 3/4 of the way through and it is indeed a great read. The only thing that is somewhat unfortunate is that I wish things weren't moving so fast in the second half of the book. Theres still a few generations of games to speak of and t...

Heres to hope I'm not causing any damage! Already been below zero many a days around here. I'll update this spring if anything is acting weird.

Re: Lukemorse1 leaves Youtube on a extremely sad note :_(
Was it all a stunt? I didn't ever see or hear about him until all this, but it appears as if he never stopped making vids, but got a ton of subscribers in doing all this. I know nothing at all about him, and am not trying to come across as cruel by any means, but it just appears that if it was indee...

So how long before the portable 64 comes out? Better have the memory expansion already built in!

Re: I am sure you guys have heard about this already
Given I own nothing of the current generation of gaming, this unfortunately does nothing for me. If we could get Retro Gamer her in the US at a place other than Barnes and Noble a month late and less than the price of a book, THAT would be some great news.

Re: One Must Fall 2097
I remember having the shareware version of this on a CD that also had Duke Nukem II, Blake Stone, Jazz Jackrabbit, Tubes, Wacky Wheels... other Apogee classics. Played the heck outta that disc. OMF 2097 was a great game, but at the time I was all about Blake Stone. Bought both "Aliens of Gold&...

I'm guessing that the 2600 had over 90% of the market in the late 70's and very early 80's.

Re: 2-D games
I could maybe see Nintendo making a few more 2D type games, since that was once there "bread and butter" so to speak, but Xbox and Playstation never really were a part of that era, and there machines although excessively capable, aren't really made for that kind of game experience. Maybe S...

Re: NOAC
Walgreens has a Plug-N-Play joypad that has about 100 NES games on it. Its not licensed by Nintendo, so it is clearly a pirated controller. Sells for about $10 if I recall. Seems very odd that a reputable company like Walgreens would sell something like this, but I guess this corperation let this f...

2-D games
By this point in video game history, the 2-D games are more or less history. Other than classic compilations, or some fighters that haven't upgraded to a more 3D enviroment, what are the better 2-D games for this generation- may it be side scrollers, shmups or anything else.

Re: Nintendo 64
You know what stinks about the N64? That dumb expansion port. Nintendo put it there knowing it was gonna expand at one point, why not just put it in there to begin with? Maybe it was a cost cutting measure, but its a pain in the arse trying to find one of these things "in the wild" nowaday...

Re: Is there a system that plays both SNES and Super Fami games?
There was a system made years ago, a clone of sorts, that would play N64, SNES, and SFAM carts, there were slots for each. I am trying to find info on it now. I seem to recall this also. Believe I saw a review of this on Gamester81's YouTube site. For those of you unfamiliar with him, heres a link ...

Hows your quest in getting the other 3D games Rob? I noticed that there were only 8 made available, should make it easier to get the complete set.
