Re: Cool interview with Ralph Baer, Father of Video Games

Ralph Baer is one of those endlessly entertaining folks that I never get tired of hearing from. Ironically, so is Nolan Bushnell...

Re: Old Nintendo system sells for $13,105

The more people keep finding these games in their attic, the more the price should go down. This game keeps jumping to astronomical numbers. BTW, I was curious about someone with a username like "lace_thongs35", so I clicked her profile. Here's what she looks like. http://i1.ebayimg.com/0...

Old Nintendo system sells for $13,105

Everyday folk discovering colossally valuable collectors' items amid everyday junk has been the lifeblood of antiques shows for years, but it's not every day you see a real-life gold-in-the-attic tale play out on eBay. Last week, North Carolina eBay user lace_thongs35 thought she was putting up an ...

Re: C64 DTV

It would be cool to be able to find this thing at Wal-Mart or Target like the Atari Flashback. But if it's a limited thing that's fetching triple-digit prices, you'd probably be better off with an original C64, capacitors be damned.

LOL @ Ter for blowing the dust off of this thread!

That was exactly a year ago where I posted about how cool my current girlfriend is/was. Little did I know a year down the road we would be married!

Re: MaxRD's T-shirt Artwork from '93!

Well, technically it wasn't ME that threw them away! When I left home, I instructed my parents to put everything I left behind in the attic. Well, it was ten years before I rented a U-Haul and picked most of it up. I think a lot of my gaming magazines are still up there because I couldn't fit everyt...

Yeah, we have NORpass here in North Carolina. There are so few tolls anywhere though that the only people you see using them are truck drivers.

Re: Atari 800 XL

I have the XE console with the keyboard, with a shoebox full of games and programs. I have the disk drive and the zapper, but I never have come across a tape drive for it yet. I guess *technically* that was my first computer, but all I ever did was play games on it. I can't remember all the games I ...

Re: Shaq Fu World Tour

I believe it! I used to work at a local used game store, and on the bottom shelf, I used to throw the crap games down there that wouldn't sell, like the 75 copies of last year's Madden or NFL something or other and mark them down to a quarter. Shaq-Fu was the one game that wasn't sports-related (wel...

Re: Shaq Fu World Tour

HA HA! That game really was crap-tacular. Not the worst game ever made like some would claim, but sill- I remember being pissed all weekend after renting it. I was like "man, I could have rented Super Mario All Stars but my dumb ass had to get Shaq attacked."
