An 80's love story
I was working part time in a five and dime. My boss was Mr. Magee. He was six foot four and full of muscles and walked like an Egyptian, but I was happy to be stuck with him. One manic Monday, while I was busy working for the weekend, I overheard him make a careless whisper. He told two of my co-wor...

Anyone have a Super Grafx?
I had it but sold it when times were tough in November '07 for $200. I need to get it back again soon. I still have Ghouls N' Ghosts and Battle Ace boxed. Ghouls is one outstanding game. Better graphics than the Genesis version. Reading about this in 1989 I wanted it so bad. I was devastated when it...

Re: Genesis or SNES guy
I'd have to say that in the beginning I was a SNES guy all the way, laughing at the Genesis kids that had no Mario to play. Then , Mortal Kombat happened. All of the sudden I was making a mad grab for the Genesis. Sega had introduced the version 2 model, and it had an insanely low price of somethin...

Re: Genesis or SNES guy
Oh, I was a Sega guy, all the way. It's funny to say that, since I liked my NES clone way better over the SMS, which kinda reigned supreme in Brazil. But the feud between the SNES and the Genesis (Mega Drive here) was far more proeminent, and that's when SEGA got me. Back then, each system fanbase ...

I have to dig mine up. Chip's Challenge was a lot of fun for a puzzle game.SegaBoy wrote:We have a chain here called CGX that specializes in older/classic games and consoles. I've seen the first model Lynx around a few stores. I don't thing the console is hard to find as the games are.

Re: What's your favorite classic Atari System?
I, like Rob (not MaximumRD Rob), am gonna have to go with the 7800. I loved many of the arcade ports that came in the 7800 library. Joust, Xevious, Food Fight, Pole Position 2, Galaga... the list goes on and on. You also get the luxury of playing all the classics off of the 2600. Its quite visually...

How much did you see them going for? At least you heard of it, many haven't.Rob wrote:Sadly, no. I've hunted one for a while now. The ones I see are either too expensive or in bad shape.

Re: The Konix Multi System
There's rumors that there are some floating around, but I've never seen one. I have seen some mock-ups at various conventions, though. The ones that are out there that claim to be working have never been demonstrated, so I think it's an urban legend. I would love an empty shell to just have for my ...

This has been my dream car ever since I first laid eyes on one.

Re: Dream Car
Seems as if we have a few guys in here that are fans of automobiles as well, so out of curiosity, what is your dream car. I'm keeping mine simple since I'd like my dream to someday become a reality. I'm gonna go with the 1976 Chevy Monte Carlo. Ideally it would be black with black leather interior....

That is great, good to have lot's of choices. On that note, any chance of more Board Styles we can choose under Board Preferences? That seems to go neglected on many sites, personally I like several themes to chose from until I find one that is pleasant for me, I'm kind of a customization freak. :o...

Re: Digitally re-mastered issues of the old fanzine Zap!
I found your "who's who" entry over at On-File : Ter Micharoni: Ter edited one of the two fanzines entitled Zap!. The other, by Scott Weller, had two exclamation points in the title. Zap! was unique in that it focused as much on Ter's conservative political beliefs as it had video games. ...

I really enjoy looking at that site from time to time. Its truly amazing how far technology has gone just in the past 10-15 years in handheld games. I really wish I would have picked up the remake of the old led football game when they came out a few years ago. Wish someone would redo an led Pac-Ma...

Curious who else here is old enough to remember going to old swap meets? I used to have a C64 and every weekend I would take some floppies to the rec center, and everyone would spend the next 4 or 5 hours copying games from one another. I still remember being grounded for a week when my parents fou...
