Clinton's Socks the Cat near death

Very sad, probably the most famous presidential pet in the last 50 years. :(

Apple fans mark 25 years of Mac devotion

(CNN) -- Long before fish swam in Macquariums, hipsters got Apple logo tattoos and thousands camped out for days to get into computer store openings, there was a machine. Saturday marks the 25th anniversary of the original Macintosh, the first personal computer to draw masses, introduce the mouse an...

What computers did you use growing up?

Although I used computers in my school starting around 1984, I didn't get my own until 1987. I got the XE Game System, and later added a 1050 disk drive. The Atari 8-bit computer line were fantastic systems, I had a blast with it. In 1990 or 1991 I moved up to a 16-bit Atari 1040 STe. I had a lot of...

Anyone into emulation?

I used to be, not so much anymore. I'd rather play the actual games the way they were originally intended to be, but every now and then I use them. What are the best Windows Vista-compatable 2600, NES, Genesis, and TG16 ones? While we're on the subject, does anyone use MAME? I'd love to have a MAME ...

Everything on the main pages is updated and all links are working. The only think not up to date is my gamelist. So if you click on it, it will list all the games I own, but none past 1999. :D

Re: Home page

Looks like Ter listened :) He has updated the homepage and there's now a link to the forums :2_thumbs_up: Yup. :) That main page is mostly text from my old Geocities page from 1997-1999. I just have to update the rest of it like the links and all. I also have to add a new counter. I'll do that now....

I'll look out for the m/o, I should get it by Saturday.

My PayPal will be fixed on Tuesday. I thought it would be instant, but it takes 3-4 business days. Sucks. :(

Re: Swap Meets

Nah not like a flea market per se, was the OLD C64 days where everything was on 5 1/4 floppies, and if you were super cool you had your own notcher and boom suddenly every disk is double sided? High tech indeed lol. But yeah everyone just copied disks back and forth, in hindsight I have no idea why...

Never had one. I was an Atari 8-bit (and 16-bit STe) fan. :atari-logo:

Re: Famicom and Disk System

No problem, you will grow to love the Famicom. Its a masterpiece of 80's Japanese gaming tech. Do you like it better than the PC Engine? That a tough one. They are closely matched, I am not sure. Its a good question though. I'm missing out on a lot. I never played any Famicom or PC Engine exclusive...

What's the rarest classic game you own?

Posting this in Classic Gaming General, because it covers a wide span. For me it's Crazy Climber and Swordquest: Waterworld for the 2600. Nothing crazy rare. :atari2600:

Re: Anyone have a Super Grafx?

I've been wanting a TurboGrafx 16 and CD or Turbo Duo forever. When I was young in the 16-bit era, it was all about Genesis and SNES. Then one day I went into the local mom n' pop game story (god, I miss those) and they had this strange machine called TG16. I picked up a controller and started play...

Re: Genesis or SNES guy

Well, if you notice the games I bought, I had a definite violent streak in my gaming. I think, now, MK plays better on the SNES, but the gore and fatalities are what made me buy a Genesis. As for SFII, this may be considered heresy, but after playing the Hyper/Turbo versions for so long, I can't pl...

Re: Dream Car

Seems as if we have a few guys in here that are fans of automobiles as well, so out of curiosity, what is your dream car. I'm keeping mine simple since I'd like my dream to someday become a reality. I'm gonna go with the 1976 Chevy Monte Carlo. Ideally it would be black with black leather interior....

Interesting facts on farts

EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT FARTS, BUT WERE AFRAID TO ASK. What makes farts stink? The odor of farts comes from small amounts of hydrogen sulfide gas and mercaptans in the mixture. These compounds contain sulfur. Nitrogen-rich compounds such as skatole and indole also add to the stench of fa...

Re: Mike Here

I use to have a '76 Corvette but unfortunately due to being alittle stupid when I was younger, I decided to race my buddy through town. Needless to say I ended up hitting some guy as he backed out of his driveway. At least now that I'm older I don't drive like that anymore. Wow, hope no one was hur...
