Re: Etiquette when unsatisfied with an online purchase

Well, I got my refund, and against my better judgment, I still gave him a positive for being cool about the situation with a quick refund and good communication. I wanted to leave a neg, but feared getting one in retaliation like what happened to me with the CDX guy. I got the top loader in the mail...

Re: Etiquette when unsatisfied with an online purchase

Got my refund yesterday. Bought a nice NES top-loader bundle with a complete Final Fantasy, and some other games from a friend on the Neo-Geo.com forums. Hopefully, I'll have it Wednesday or Thursday.

Re: What's your favorite beer?

I usually drink Blue Moon or Sam Adams Cherry Wheat. Thanks to AVGN, I've also taken a liking to Rolling Rock. It's a light beer that goes down smooth. I know a lot of people hate it, but I like it.

Man, I wish I had the money to get both of those sets. It sucks having to settle for the individual seasons by themselves.

Re: Etiquette when unsatisfied with an online purchase

It was a toaster model which supposedly had a new 72 pin connector in it. It took many tries to get my games to work, even after cleaning the contacts on the games. Most of the time I got a blank, black screen and the power light would flash on at off. Other times, I could get the games to work, but...

Etiquette when unsatisfied with an online purchase

So I got a NES bundle from CTCW (http://www.chasethechuckwagon.com/item.cgi?show_item=0000168911). I got the bundle in the mail today, and upon opening the package started noticed that the system and controllers were dirty. I thought, no biggie. After hooking everything up though, I ran into more co...

Re: Let's Discuss why we collect retro games

Nice videos, Rob! I have to say that I agree with a lot of your points. I throw in my two cents. My fiancé made a similar comment about me recapturing my youth as reason for my retro game collecting. I think that’s the case with most retro collectors; myself included. I remember times like when I go...

Dragon Warrior

So I started up a new game of Dragon Warrior today and my God, I forgot just how damn hard this game is early on. I mean leaving the main castle and going to the first town and then to the cave was crazy. After fighting a couple of blue and red slimes and then the occasional drakee, I had to haul as...

Re: How do you store your gaming magazines?

Dude, I just noticed you have the Imperial Star Destroyer LEGO set. That's awesome. How much that set you back?

We got a LEGO store at one of the local mall with the Millennium Falcon and Death Star sets.

Nickelmania and the death of the arcade

Down the street from my apartment there's a little pizza place/arcade called Nickelmania. Think of it as a very ghetto Chuck E. Cheese. I hadn't been there in years. Last time I was there was to see if they were selling any old arcade cabinets that I could put in my old apartment. Anyway, my fiance ...

Generation NEX and NES games

So a few days ago I picked up a Generation NEX. I mainly got it cuz it plays both NES and Famicom games, but I'm kinda disappointed with it. :( Like most NES clones, it won't play certain games (including one of my all time favs Castlevania III) and I also hear there's even more Famicom games it won...

I don't have the massive collection like I wish I did. I just have a few issues of Retro Gamer stuffed under the desk next to my bed, lol

Is there a system that plays both SNES and Super Fami games?

So I just bought a Generation NEX (plays both NES and Famicom games) from a member on Neo-Geo.com and was wonder if such a console or clone existed that plays both SNES and Super Famicom games? While I'd rather have the real deal, I'll buy a clone if it makes things more convenient. If no clone exis...

I just got back from the Screw Attack Gaming Convention...

So I just got back from the 2009 Screw Attack Gaming Convention. It wasn’t as big as I had hoped, and we didn’t get to spend a lot of time there, but Lazerface and I still had a lot of fun. We got there about 10 minutes after 9 and there was a crazy long line to get in. Luckily, we found a back way ...

Re: Video games featuring the World Trade Center

While I agree that what happened on 9/11 was a tragedy, it happened nearly 8 years ago and I think people need to let go and quit getting so riled up when they hear about it. Hell, I remember all those idiots petitioning against the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers movie because it reminded people ...
