Bah ha ha, Android was on tv!

BS about anything you like in here, as long as it's not TOO controversial

Bah ha ha, Android was on tv!

Post by Darryl B. »

For those who don't know, apparently in the future the Vectrex game system is built into space stations :D That's why I've always wanted to see it, although I'll have to check out the non censored version of it for the nudity. I'm surprised it was on, period.

Actually if pulled off correctly it would've been pretty intriguing, as a doctor on a space station has one of the (seemingly) last race of androids that were killed off, since they went nuts and went on a raping and killing spree. Unfortunately that was the minor subplot of it, the main plot was that the android Max spent most of his time playing Vectrex Star Trek and watching pornos in hopes of getting it on with a female (as said on Vectrex homebrewer John Dondzila's website, since I didn't catch the whole movie).

Actually when I first found it was on, it didn't seem too awful, but it got worse in the second half, although it had a big twist right near the end. I pretty much agree with the Internet Movie DataBase rating of 5.5 or whatever of it. The music was actually fairly good, although typical sorta cheesy sci-fi keyboard music though.

Are you referring to THIS 1982 flick?

I love movies, any movies pre- 90's that attempts to depict the future, it just comes out like the future with 70's or 80's thems and concepts, I love them, the cheesier the better.

Ever see the original Rollerball? My favorite shot was when they went to the library at one point to use computers. Hey! That actually came true! Except for the part where the libriarian handed them a stack of punchcards to use on the computer :D
