FC Mobile portable NES player
Does anyone here own one? I want one, but I'm gonna wait for the FC Mobile 2. You see, on this one, the "A" and "B" buttons are reversed, and there's no A/C adapter option. That just kills it for me.
Re: FC Mobile portable NES player
I didn't get one simply BECAUSE the button placement was reversed. There's an easy fix for the console version that takes the Genesis/Nes/Super NES games but it only works on Nintendo cartridges. The Super NES games still play backwards. This would kill whatever fun I'd get from owning one.
I don't understand what's going on with these retroconsoles coming out of China. They're getting more innovative in the way they format the hardware, but at the cost of something like correct button configuration. My FC Twin has the correct B/A switch, so it's not like they don't know how to do it correctly.

I can't wait for the second one. But I'd rather have a portable 2600/7800 first.Rob wrote:I didn't get one simply BECAUSE the button placement was reversed. Part II is here, andthe button placement is correct (diagnal, yes, but the buttons are in the right order at least). This one hooks up to your TV, comes with two wireless controllers and a wireless gun. Also allows use of an AC Adapter. Supposidly $49.99, it's a steal.

The FC Mobile II looks great, but I must say I'm much more interested in Hyperkin's Pluto (portable Genesis). Heres the link for a few more details-

Re: FC Mobile portable NES player
Mine just came Monday. What a great deal for just $49.99 shipped, and I just ordered it Friday. While I love it so far, a couple of minor gripes:
I really don't like how in order to change the batteries (4 AA), I have to use a mini screwdriver to take the back off. Also, why AA? Why not a recharable like digital camera's use? Finally, while the huge NES cart has to stick out, it would have been nice if it went down all the way to minimize it. It goes down less than halfway. An inch and a half is clearly wasted.
Now, the positives:
I just tested it with Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (on purpose, to celebrate the release of the Wii version just released). The screen is crisp and clear, and I like the button layout. They didn't get the "A" and "B" backwards this time. Sound is loud. Slightly muzzled, but should be much better with headphones. While a bit thick, the unit (hehe, I said "thick unit") is very light and compfortable. Was a pleasure to play. I can't tell you how well battery life is yet, nor can I say how hooking it up to a TV is yet, but I'm sure the latter is fine. All in all a great deal, I got it here:

True point TER but really, once the batteries are in I don't bother with the screws, the covers do have little latches that hold well enough without the screws though you might have to push it right in for them to snap securely closed.Ter wrote: I really don't like how in order to change the batteries (4 AA), I have to use a mini screwdriver to take the back off.
