Suda 51 Confirms Next No More Heroes for Next Nintendo

Post by Zap! »

In an interview with 1up.com, No More Heroes 2 producer Goichi "Suda 51" Suda confirmed that, despite reports to the contrary, the series will be remaining on Nintendo systems for the forseeable future.

Although Suda had been quoted as stating that he would like to look into Microsoft's Project Natal or Sony's PS3 Motion Controller for the future of the franchise, it looks as if he might have been misquoted.

When asked if the series would be leaving Nintendo platforms, Suda says that he would like the next No More Heroes to be on the next-gen Nintendo console, whether it be the "Wii 2" or otherwise. He also states that lead character Travis Touchdown's story will conclude with the next game, and a prospective No More Heroes 3 would be all about a new character.

Definitely good news for Nintendo, as No More Heroes has been one of the definitive sleeper hits of this generation. Keeping the franchise on Nintendo platforms can only help, being one of the few games on the platform that has successfully appealed to the mature gamer.

Nice! I will bump this to keep it active. The Wii needs more talk (I'm a fan, Nin is the only one still around since The Crash).

Yeah, I love my Wii. I really can't wait until we hear more about the next generation of consoles. I'd say one more year and the facts should start coming out.

I read at sega-16 that a judge in France ruled that Nintendo is being too strict in it's guidelines about publishing and that it ought to be a more open platform, and compared it to the Windows OS. While it's a hardware platform and Win is more of a portable thing between many computers, watch for French titles to start coming out of the woodwork.

If I can think of anything to publish, I'll be going with a French label! Yes, I tinker, and the Wii needs Sonic 2 or other great 2D things ported to it.

That's a good question, why no Sonic Gems or Greatest Hits on the Wii yet?

I can't say for sure, since I've lost track as to what Sega's been doing for the last few years (especially since I don't have any current consoles to keep my eye on them), but it seems to me they're not really flooding the market with these kinds of compilations and all, they're only releasing a few here and there. So that might be why, although I could be wrong though.
