That's really cool. I guess it didn't take off because I don't remember it at all. Closest I remember is that gum that had the soda in it like 7-Up and Dr. Pepper.

I think I vagely remember those, but I sure do remember Asteroids bubble gum! I was a mega fan of this!

I don't remember those either, of course, I was only a year old when they came out, so...

I do recall Mario and Zelda candies of all types. I think I had some Pac-Man gum when I was really young, that may be imagined though.
