Hi,

I am 32 years old and am somewhat of a video game fanatic, currently in the magazine collecting phaze and not so much the gaming part (though what I have keeps me pretty much in games with no problem).

Great site, love the icons there on the left of this window while typing. Talked a little with White Knight on Atari Age's message board and took him up on the posting about checking out his forums. Nice.

Welcome. I'm a big game mag collector as well. I probably have more literature about games than I do actual games. :starman:

Thank you megasdkirby and Rob, I like the site already and hope that it is able to grow and get that much better as time goes on.

Carlos, you should have been on ebay about a month ago, there were all kinds of old gaming mag auctions up (I sold Gamefan #3 in bad condition for $13), watched someone pay $475 for Gamefan #1 then another guy bought #2 for $250. On the same day, watched a set of Game Informers #1 through 10 go for only $35 (what is the world coming to? I like Gamefan but not enough to pay almost $500 for it).
It is interesting looking at the ads and such that ran back in the day (I have a thread on Retromags where people are posting the funnier ones).

Yeah, I saw a lot of those crazy auctions here lately.

Did you notice that the ebaying of gamer mags seems to be a seasonal thing? It seems like it always picks up a lot of steam come springtime, and usually peters out around early fall. Around Christmas time this past year I saw some crazy stuff like EGM #1 walk at 5.00! Insanity, man!!!

I have noticed that Rob. I recently picked up Game Informer 58 through 64 for $2 a piece and already have it arranged with another ebay member to sell them all to him for $40 plus $5 shipping and I spent less than $20 total. Of course he is a reseller so that is expected. Of course they will be scanned before selling.
I think I saw that issue of EGM go for $5 or so. I think I caught it with something like 4 minutes left and went to check my paypal account for funds and came back and it was ended already (I hate paypal, a lot).

That works with regular game console selling as well, probably when "garage sale season" ends, pretty much.

I am sure I am in the same boat as most people here, no money when the good stuff hits ebay. lol.
I love garage/yard sales, I have been fortunate enough to pick up all kinds of rare things, at least rare in other parts of the country but readily available here in Arkansas (comic books are a big thing here but rarer up north, or at least people pay more for them up there).
