New Karate Kid trailer

BS about anything you like in here, as long as it's not TOO controversial

Yeah I saw this the other week, thought it was hilarious how it looked like Chan was going to recreate the chopsticks scene in Karate Kid 2, but then used a fly swatter instead :D

At least Chan will be way more believable as a karate teacher in this one, I saw parts of 2 on tv where Pat Marika (or whatever his name was) was supposedly kicking a guy's butt that was twice his size, but it was obvious he wasn't.

Pat Morita wasn't even a martial artist, at least Chan knows his stuff (although not karate, but kung-fu). However, both him and the kid seem too young for the parts. An 11 year old? He should be in his mid to late teens. The actor who played Harry Potter might have been a better choice.

Well it's a remake, they're taking it in quite a few directions, as it's taking place in China (I think) this time around, since the kid and his mom are moving overseas.

I would say I actually have hopes for this one, but then, I never saw the others anyway, just parts on tv. So it wouldn't bother me if another remake was ruined (as usual), but it probably will with fans of the original.

So, anyone going to see/have seen this one? :D

My mom took the nephew to it today. Both of them liked it a bit. Heard it's a bit darker than the original, the kid goes through some brutal bullying in the movie. But at #1 at the box office (for now) it looks like it's off to a pretty good start.

I this this is what it is. If you think it's a remake, you're probably not going to like it, because it's not one. It's basically The Karate Kid, in a parallel universe somewhere. It's like the Karate Kid, only different. Ehh, it's late I can't explain this well.
