Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing

Postby Zap! » Wed Dec 23, 2009 3:20 am

This will be released March 2010, and is basically Sega's version of Mario Kart. The good news is that it's been confirmed that my favorite video game mascot, Alex Kidd, is in it, and he rides his signature "Sukopako" motorbike and the Peticopter! Can't wait for this, can a new Alex Kidd game be far off? :Alex-Punch:

I like that Ryo of Shenmue is in it with his motorcycle and forklift!

They keep saying that Shenmue 3 will never be made, but I can still dream!

This is coming out for the PS3 and 360 on February 10, and for the Wii in March. It is a "Kart" type racing game, and seems to look like Sega's answer to Mario Kart. Not sure which version I will get. If the Wii version using the wheel that came with Mario Kart Wii, I'll get that one. Here's the confirmed character list:

From the Sonic the Hedgehog series

* Sonic the Hedgehog
* Miles "Tails" Prower
* Knuckles the Echidna
* Doctor Eggman
* Amy Rose
* Shadow the Hedgehog
* Big the Cat

From other Sega properties

* AiAi from Super Monkey Ball
* Amigo from Samba de Amigo
* Ryo Hazuki from Shenmue
* Beat from Jet Set Radio
* Alex Kidd from the Alex Kidd series
* Billy Hatcher from Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
* Zobio and Zobiko, the zombie couple from The House of the Dead EX

From non-Sega properties

* Banjo and Kazooie from Banjo-Kazooie(Xbox 360)
* Xbox 360 Avatars(Xbox 360)
* Miis (Wii)

I admit seeing RYO was a big bonus for me as well! I am a HUGE Shenmue fan, finished the first on Dreamcast, got the second on Dreamcast
but never finished it, then got the 2nd again for XBOX, damn great game, I know it was not for everyone. Funny thing is I don't normally go for such games and when I first started playing I was not sure I would get into it but it slowly sucked me in, the graphics, the story, the slow pace just kept me interested. Yes I too would love to see a third game. Ah well, anyway this race game looks cool.........

I can't wait to see some reviews on this. If it's really in the same vein as Mario Kart, it should be great. Wish it had some more characters like Opa-Opa, Shinobi, and Space Harrier, but looks good as it is.

More characters confirmed, including Opa-Opa!

Please let Space Harrier, Shinobi (Joe Musashi), and Wonder Boy on a skateboard be in it. Please Sega.

It's official, the Wii version will include a Wii-Wheel Bundle.
