Re: How do you get out of here?

You're a bunch of cyberspace whores. Who knows what's going on in my computer right now. May Donkey Kong wreck your... well, you can probably figure it out. I'm currently going on a widespread condemnation of your site.

How do you get out of here?

I want out of here, but there doesn't seem to be a clear way to do so. I guess I'm trapped in this circle of hell forever. I will be sure to advise all my online friends to steer clear of your site.

Re: Anyone into emulation?

Copyright laws expire after a period of time, especially when the "owners" don't bother to file a claim to ownership. However, I think the time limts on copyright expiration should be lowered because there are great works of art out there, and not just videogames, being held hostage becaus...

Re: Some ideas I had for some new sub-forums

The problem with a site like this (and I've viewed many) is poor focus and promotion. I know you've posted on all the social networks, but there seems to be no coherence in the forums and threads. As a new member, I've already found problems as to where to look for my interests without having to del...

Re: The Rarest and Most Valuable NES Games

The NES was the last home console I ever bought and eventually sold it and all of my games for a ridiculously low price. After having gone through the golden age of home videogames (Odyssey, Atari/Intellivision/Colecovision...) and often suffered miserably for paying 20 dollars and up for the worst ...

Top 100? That just tells me they released way too many games. I have a complete set of NES emulator ROMS and have yet to find 100 games I even like.

Re: Super Mario Bros. 2 US is a very under-rated game

I think of SM2 as a videogame version of INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM. It's faster than the original, occasionally more exciting, but somehow lacks what made the first one special. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good game, but I always got the feeling I was playing nothing more than SUPE...

Re: Top 5 hardest NES games

Too me, the hardest NES games were the pointless scrollers where you wandered around forever and could never figure out what to do. There's way too many to list, but FRIDAY THE 13TH may have been the worst of them all.

Re: The Colecovision

And unless you're a major Smurf fan, don't bother buying that game. The only fun is purposely goofing up and watch him die on picket fences and rocky spikes. Might as well play the Atari 2600's HUMAN CANNONBALL for similar morbid content.

Re: The Colecovision

My only problem with the Coleco DONKEY KONG cart was that at a certain point, it became impossible to play. Maybe I didn't study enough patterns (which I've always detested), but when you get to the third (or is it fourth?) elevator screen, that first fireball doesn't give you a chance to survive. S...

Re: The rise and fall of the arcade...

Yes, ROAD RUNNER is a truly obscure game that I've never seen for sale anywhere. They took it out of my old aracde in 1974, and it's pretty much disappeared. But I do feel lucky to have experienced the growth of videogames from their very beginning. And while working at that hotel, I got to play the...

VIDIOT

Anyone remember VIDIOT? It was an irreverent videogame mag put out in the early 80s by the publishers of CREEM magazine. Too bad this link only shows a cover and table of contents, but not the actual content.

Re: Anyone into emulation?

I'm on an extremely low budget, so emulation is a must for me. Of course I would love to own all the original systems, but it's not economically feasible. MAME offers a treasure trove of obscure and forgotten games that were never ported and never will be, so it's valuable as a museum-piece research...

Re: The rise and fall of the arcade...

1. When was the first time you remembered being in an arcade and what did you first play? I grew up in the Catskill Mountains resort area and since my parents worked at one of those big hotels, I literally had access to an arcade for as long as I can remember. I was born in 1963, so my earliest memo...

Re: The Colecovision

Colecovision is the only system I still have from that era. Somewhere along the line I lost the expansion modules, but you'd be better off buying a real Atari 2600 if you're into collecting those games. (SPACE SHUTTLE is virtually impossible to play correctly on the expansion module.) Also, unless y...

Re: Top 10 Atari 2600 Games

Yes, I've always considered Activision to be the best producer of Atari 2600 games. True, many of the games I listed are obvious derivatives of arcade games (ENDURO=POLE POSITION, CHOPPER COMMAND=DEFENDER, etc), but the wizards at Activision managed to make them graphically cleaner and with less fli...

Re: Top 10 Atari 2600 Games

I've made two lists. One features my Top Ten games designed exclusively for the 2600, and another Top Ten listing my favorite arcade ports. Both are in alphabetical order. The Originals: ATLANTIS CHOPPER COMMAND DEMON ATTACK ENDURO KABOOM! KEYSTONE KAPERS MEGAMANIA PITFALL II RIVER RAID STARMASTER T...
