Re: Where is everyone?

Been busy since I started my PR firm, working on Out-of-Print and helping run a new gaming site. I plan to start coming back more often and seeing what is going on, just been so busy that I have been cutting back on visiting a lot of forums I am a member of (google my user name and see, I am a membe...

Re: EGM is Back

The big thing about Gamefan is that it also includes Moviefan. Don't worry, being a flip magazine you would think it would be 50 percent Gamefan and 50 percent Moviefan. It is 29 pages of Moviefan and 68 pages of Gamefan so that is nearly a 70/30 split in favor of Gamefan. The paper quality is not a...

Re: Where is everyone?

Hey Zap, not a lot going on, just doing the promotion circuit lately, gearing up for my second interview, about Scenic 7, waiting for the final transition of Out-of-Print over to it's new owner and such. Enjoying the sound of the rain right now, with the lights dimming in and out like only a massive...

Re: Where is everyone?

Well, after leaving Pixel Perfect Gaming, I seem to have some more time on my hands. What has everyone been up to? Having a blast yet? As they say, one door closes, a window will open. My window is Scenic 7 PR (http://www.scenic7pr.com). It is already a larger success than my previous endeavors coul...

Re: EGM is Back

I have the new issues of Gamefan and EGM and well, it is weird, it feels like Halverson lost the "feel" of Gamefan during his absence (and that of the mag itself) and that Harris hit paydirt with a new style that is closer to the original Gamefan (especially in paper quality). Weird. lol A...

Just a heads up (warning if you are concerned about Ross Perot level voices like mine) that I was recently interviewed on The Retro League in their third interview episode. If you have about 45 minutes to kill and want to know more about me, Out-of-Print or PPG, check this out. http://theretroleague...

Re: Cool interview with Ralph Baer, Father of Video Games

I was fortunate enough to have some of his time to do an interview with him that I released, while still with, Retromags. He is an awesome person and is beyond cool to talk with (the things he brings up will just blow your mind). On a side note, I have submitted a design to his company for assistanc...

Out-of-Print Archive Updates

Just thought it would be of interest to know that OoPA has just acquired legal permission to release several gaming magazines. I have one issue in possession right now that I am editing, we have arranged an interview and are putting together a special to celebrate this event. More information will b...

Re: I am sure you guys have heard about this already

We know about the scan at Racketboy, it is pretty low quality (150 DPI I believe). I am not trying to sound like we are elitists or something but this is such a special event (plus I have not been able to get permission from the scanner at Racketboy to use his scan).

Re: The complete list of classic video gaming forums

I won't put a link to it here since I am not sure you would count Out-of-Print Archive as a retro gaming site (it focuses on old gaming magazines, mainly nothing newer than Dreamcast is allowed). On topic though, I have one that you didn't list so far: The Retro League (http://www.theretroleague.com...

Re: I am sure you guys have heard about this already

If you could scan EGM #1 that would be amazingly cool and oh so appreciated. I understand about the size situation (with our settings at OoPA most releases are closer to 200 megs but look almost as good as the original they come from-none of that artifacting that plagues releases at 1440 and smaller).

Re: Gamefan Magazine and Controversy!

On ebay, most issues of Gamefan at about #13 up go for at least $15 before shipping. #1 is about $150, #2 is about $125, #3 is about $75 and they go down from there to about $30 for #10 (I haven't seen #11 and #12 on ebay lately but figure they are close to #10 in cost. I have #5 up (#3 is scanned b...

Re: I am sure you guys have heard about this already

Would it be possible to get scans of the first 3 EGM's? I have #4 personally that I can scan. Could you do it at 300 DPI? I can do editing/repair of any damaged areas if need be. As with the Kunkel stuff (which if you would like to work on some more of that it would be appreciated too) I will make s...

Re: Gamefan Magazine and Controversy!

Added you to the PPG account since I don't remember my personal Youtube account info (I had some weird name and no longer have the e-mail address connected to it).

Definitely going to watch more vids (I caught the Gamefan vid on Armchair Arcade).

Thanks for the vote of confidence Ter, sorry for not being around more to keep up with everything here (as you can probably tell from my Facebook, PPG's Facebook or the site itself, things are moving at an amazing pace right now). We are busy as busy can be right now, making plans to attend E3 this ...

Re: I am sure you guys have heard about this already

Twinchargers, check out Classic Video Gamer Magazine, they are retro enthusiasts and have a writing style closer to Video Games and Computer Entertainment. http://www.classicvgm.com Back on the subject, anyone have any Steve Harris EGM's? Something special is coming to Out-of-Print and we could use ...

Re: A Soundwave .mp3 player!

Hmmm, seeing something like that makes me wonder why the company releasing the Transformers toys hasn't taken advantage of technology and made a retro figure of Soundwave that is an MP3 player. Of course, I am an idiot if the picture is in fact what I just mentioned. I understand not ever going to g...
